Hi, I'm Jeanine.

I have been teaching children electronics robotics and coding since 2012... before 4IR was a popular buzz word.

I am passionate about bringing these exciting topics to children, because while the topics might intimidate the older generation, they are ESSENTIAL to the new generation. Not only are the job opportunities opening up in these areas, but our children have grown up in a different world which they need to understand.

Learning these three topics ELECTRONICS, ROBOTICS and CODING, a whole world of INVENTING and CREATING opens up to children. They no longer are just the users of the technology...but can be at the forefront of creating.

OUR COURSES


Our courses were developed specifically for children 12 years and up. However older humans will also enjoy them ;-)

The projects have been designed to be relevant and fun. But like everything worthwhile, some perseverance is required. When you learn to read you have to get past "Sam kicks the ball" before you get to read Harry Potter.

It's the same with everything.

Once you get past the basics you will discover a whole world open up for you.

It is advised that you get started with our ELECTRONICS course first, because you will then actually understand what goes on INSIDE a robot...why a robots wheels turn backwards and forwards. You will also learn how to build on a breadboard if you do this course first.

Then move on to ROBOTICS, either using the Arduino microcontroller or the Microbit controller, and later possibly APP BUILDING.

ELECTRONICS


Our electronics courses start at the very beginning, explaining the theory and the practical use of electricity. Every learning is supported with a practical project so that children can really see it all at play. We learn to follow schematic diagrams and to build projects on prototyping breadboards like engineers do. We learn how to manipulate electricity with various components so that we can make things MOVE, BUZZ and FLASH. Before you know it you will be playing with transistors and capacitors as if you were an engineer. 

ARDUINO or MICROBIT

ROBOTICS



In our robotics courses we start at the very beginning programming an Arduino microcontroller to listen to messages from sensor and to make things happen in the real world, depending on the message. A good understanding of electronics is required as our focus is now coding in C++, Python or Drag and Drop depending on your ability.

The power of combining electronics and coding with a microcontroller is incredible. You can realise almost anything project you dream up!

APP BUILDING


Children understand the world of Apps and mobile devices so it is very easy to get them coding Apps. Their creative ideas are never ending and they can see them realised immediately, once coded. This is also an excellent way to further instil the coding concepts that are common to most coding languages, at a young age, so that they become second nature. You won’t have to persuade your child to do this course, they will be persuading you!

What you can expect from our course?
